The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) expressed concern on Wednesday (July 19) that the number of child labourers in Afghanistan is increasing.
By publishing a report on the Twitter page, this department has written that the number of child labourers has increased in families that do not have a male head and where the responsibility of the family is on the shoulders of women. According to Ocha, there has been a 35% increase in working children in these families.
At the same time, not long ago, UNICEF also expressed concern about the increase in child labour in Afghanistan.
Since the Taliban came to power, poverty, unemployment, and insecurity have reached a peak, and the country’s economic system has collapsed, which has caused unemployment among people and youth, especially children.
