Two families of the main residents of Yakawlang city, Bamyan, are still trapped by Iranian smugglers.
Reports from local sources in Yakawlang stated that two families of the main residents of Yakawlang are still trapped on their way to Iran.
Local sources said on Thursday (August 31) in Yakawlang that these two families were caught by thieves on the smuggling route to Iran a few days ago.
The details of what the thieves want in return for their release are not yet available. Usually, thieves steal passengers from the smuggling route in exchange for receiving money. It is said that these thieves have killed a number of people for not paying their requested money.
After the re-establishment of the Taliban, taking refuge in neighbouring countries away from smuggling routes is the main way to escape unemployment and hunger in Afghanistan. Unemployment in Afghanistan and the difficulty of obtaining a passport are the main reasons for illegal immigration.
The source added that these two families fell into the hands of thieves on the smuggling route between Zahedan and Balochistan provinces of Iran, and there is still no information about their fate.
Also, a person who did not want to be named said that there has been no news about the fate of one of his nieces since yesterday. He said that his niece’s cell phone is switched off.
It is worth mentioning that every day, dozens of Afghanistani citizens try to illegally enter Iran for work through the “dangerous smuggling route”.
The government of Iran has also launched an intensified operation on its borders with Afghanistan with the re-emergence of the Taliban and has allowed its border guards to shoot people who enter that country “illegally”.
After the fall of the previous government in Afghanistan, a large number of citizens of this country left Afghanistan. Some people became refugees in European and American countries with the support of foreign countries. But due to bad economic conditions and unemployment, some of them entered Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries through smuggling and now live in Iran and Pakistan.
