According to the sources, Asif Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, stated Pakistan’s concern and said that Afghanistan tried to establish a checkpoint inside Pakistan’s border at the Torkham border.
According to Aaj News Agency, on Saturday, September 9, Pakistan announced its clear position and said that the purpose of establishing this base is to occupy Pakistan’s territory, and under no circumstances can they hand over their territory to anyone.
Sources said that after the Pakistani military opened fire on the Taliban, they stopped the construction of the outpost.
Ahmad Shakib, the Taliban ambassador in Islamabad, said in a meeting with Asif Durrani that Afghanistan is worried about the continuous closure of the Torkham border.
Sources added that Sardar Ahmad Shakib stressed the opening of the Torkham border and said that closing the border would cause inconvenience to travellers and public traffic.
Mr. Shakib said that people around the border are worried, and he will open the Torkham border soon.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan said that the presence of modern weapons in Afghanistan is a concern.
He had said that he had informed all his friends, including the United States, about the security on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan said: “The border of Torkham is closed due to severe security threats, and it will be opened after progress in security issues.”
This is despite the fact that the Torkham border remains closed for the fourth day, and it is said that dozens of fruit and vegetable trucks are rotting.
