According to European media reports, a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 occurred around 11:00 p.m. in Morocco, killing and injuring more than 400 people.
The Ministry of Interior of Morocco reported today (Saturday, September 9) that during this earthquake, 296 people died and at least 153 others were injured.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the centre of this earthquake occurred 70 kilometres southwest of Morocco at a depth of 18.5 kilometres, and its intensity also affected Spain and Portugal.
