According to local sources from Herat, all Hazara areas have been taken off the list of relief organisations.
Areas such as Noqra, Jangan, Khaja Sarbar, Rezshk, Yaser town, NouAbad Khoshroo, Ahmadi town, Azimi town, Sang Bast, Saadat town, Shohada town, Kore Melli, Hussain Abad, and SeyedAbad, which were affected by the recent earthquake, are missing from the lists of aids.
A report was sent to VOC News on Thursday, October 19, stating that aid packages from national and international organisations and donors have arrived in Herat. However, the Hazara areas are not included in the lists for aid distribution.
Speaking to VOC News, Maryam Ataei, the director of the Qatrah Foundation, said that the Hazara areas were not destroyed in the first earthquake, and the destruction in these areas was the result of aftershocks.
She believes that it might be the reason why the aid has not reached these areas. However, she confirmed that the findings of the Qatrah Foundation show that relief organisations have not paid any attention to Hazara areas.
She added that the people of Khwaja Sarir village, Ahmadi town, and Noqra village are in a very dire situation and desperately need tents, food, and hygiene supplies.
It was previously reported that the Taliban misused the aid and prevented it from reaching needy people.
