As reported by OCHA, in 2022, nearly 700 children were killed and injured due to the explosion of underground mines, unexploded materials and improvised bombs. This international organization has added that two children are killed and injured on average every day.
OCHA also has added that Afghanistan is a war-torn country. For this reason, there are unexploded ordnance in different parts of Afghanistan and it takes victims from the people of Afghanistan.
In addition, Qari Nuruddin Rostamkhel, head of mine clearance coordination of the Taliban government ministry, announced the clearing of 323,000 square kilometers of land with the cooperation of donor countries and said that efforts are still ongoing to clear land contaminated with explosive materials.
