Amir Khan Mottaqi, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, and Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, met and discussed.
Hafiz Zia_Ahmad, Deputy Spokesman of the Taliban’s foreign Ministry, wrote in a tweet on Saturday (May 27, 2023) that Amir Khan Mottaqi and Qomi met in Kabul.
Mr. Zia Ahmad added that resuming the exchange of Afghanistan prisoners, the water quota of Iran, the execution process of the accused, especially the citizens of Afghanistan, and the issuance of Iranian visas to Afghanistan’s people were the discussions between Mottaqi and Qomi.
According to Mr. Zia Ahmad, Amir Khan Mottaqi emphasized on the good relationship between two countries and believes that the problems between Iran and Afghanistan will be resolved through dialogue.
Also, Iran’s ambassador and special representative in this meeting said that in the recent UN meeting in Doha regarding Afghanistan, Iran emphasized on defending the current situation of Afghanistan and coordinating the management of the border issue between these two countries.
