Based on the report by reporters from VOC News from the west of Kabul, most areas of this part of Kabul have serious water scarcity problems.
Engineer Reza, one of the residents of district 18 in the west of Kabul in Deh Ghabel, told VOC News that it has been 10 days since the water famine and people are feeling completely lost. He said that the recent water shortage has caused problems both for the people and the water supply companies.
Paiwandali, one of the residents in Mahdia town in district 18 of Dasht-e-Barchi, told VOC News that he has been living in this neighbourhood for 6 years now. During this period, despite the fact that water scarcity was one of the many problems Kabul residents faced, the water famine in the past few days in the entire west of Kabul has been unprecedented and worrisome.
Ms. Ruqiya Ramazanzada is one of the current residents of Reg-Reshan, west of Kabul. Complained about the lack of water and said that she has locked her eyes on the water tap, waiting for water, and will store some as soon as it comes.
This 70-year-old lady considers the water famine and unemployment as the wrath of the god and backs her statement with reasons such as dishonesty among the people, murdering and killing of innocent people by the same people, and faithlessness in religious beliefs and practises in recent years as the main factors for the problems befallen upon the Afghanistani people.
Additionally, lack of water is not the only problem people deal with. Besides lack of water, unemployment is another serious challenge for the people. Residents in the west of Kabul suffer from both water scarcity and unemployment. They say if these unprecedented problems are not paid attention to, horrible days are to come.
