Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban, published a message on the occasion of Eid al-Adha and said that with the start of the Sharia courts, Sharia Law has been practically implemented.
Now we can witness the practise of those religious and Shariah orders, as well as Hudud and Qisas, that were not possible to implement before, he said.
Also, in his message, Hibatullah emphasised that the activities of ‘promoting virtue and preventing vice’ must be in accordance with the Sharia and the principles of inviting to Islam in order to reform the society, and said that with the actions taken so far, reforms will be implemented in the society every day, and thus the evil is perishing away.
In a part of this message, it is stated that with the rule of the Islamic Emirate, forced marriages have decreased and women are not faced with forced marriages and ongoing oppressions any longer. He added that actions have been taken regarding this matter to ensure their Shariah rights.
However, in the message from the Taliban leader, nothing is mentioned about cancelling the restrictions on women, especially in the work and education sectors.
