According to local reports, a teenager committed suicide in Kandahar province on Saturday night of this week and ended his life.
Sources said that this 14-year-old boy hanged himself on Saturday night, June 24, in “Khak Chupan” of Maiwand district.
The Taliban attributed Ahmad’s suicide to mental illness, but local people said that the cause of his suicide was undue pressure from his family and the Taliban group.
Since the Taliban came to power, the suicide rate has also increased.
The suicide of this 14-year-old boy takes place while 79 people have committed suicide since last year. Out of this number, 41 were women and 38 were men.
Poverty, unemployment, and environmental pressures have been considered the causes behind these suicides.
