The Associated Press reported that Shahbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, launched the construction of a 1,200 megawatt Chinese nuclear power project on Friday, July 14.
The report states that this project, with a cost of 3.5 billion dollars, is part of the government’s efforts to produce more clean energy in this country.
According to the Associated Press, this project is located in Mianwali, a region in the Punjab province of Pakistan, and it was opened after a month of its contract.
Shahbaz Sharif said in his remarks at this ceremony that the opening of this project is a positive step in the direction of clean energy production and strengthening the ties between Pakistan and China.
Pakistan has had good ties with China since its birth in 1947, and they have always cooperated in infrastructure and development projects.
