Asif Ali Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan affairs, said in his meeting with Feridun Sinirlioglu, the UN Secretary General’s special coordinator for Afghanistan affairs, that there should be a negotiation about the recognition of the Taliban.
Durrani wrote in a tweet that during his meeting with Mr. Sinirlioglu, he discussed the recognition of the Taliban group, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Taliban shelters, women’s rights, banking restrictions, frozen assets, and the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and asked the UN coordinator to pay more attention to these issues.
Asif Ali Durrani added that the Taliban is a reality, and the world must come to terms with this reality. This talk took place while Mr. McCall considered the recognition of the Taliban an undesirable thing and said that the world should avoid interacting with the Taliban.
