The Turkish police announced by publishing a report that on Sunday (August 6) they arrested 64 Afghanistani refugees in Arzanjan, this country.
According to the Turkish police, they have identified these 64 people who were hiding in a truck among electronic machines.
In this report, it is stated that the driver of this truck, who was an Iranian citizen, was also arrested by the police.
Meanwhile, one of the refugees said in an audio message that the Turkish police injured some of the refugees very badly with knives and weapons.
Lately, Turkey’s action to detain and deport asylum seekers has increased. At the same time, videos of Turkish police dealing with asylum seekers are circulating on social media, showing that they tortured and beat these asylum seekers and treated them inhumanely.
Since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, a large number of citizens have been forced to leave the country and go to European countries illegally.
After winning the Turkish elections, Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that he will change his policy towards illegal asylum seekers.
The majority of illegal asylum seekers in Turkey are Syrian and Afghanistani citizens.
