VOC News: The Taliban have murdered a young man after months of severe torture in Pul-e-Charkhi prison.
Sources said that four months ago, the Taliban detained a local individual named “Nawab” from the old Macroyan Square in Kabul city. They then transferred him to Pul-e-Charkhi prison, where he was imprisoned for four months.
Sources further added that after four months of torture, the Taliban handed over Nawab’s body to his family on Monday, September 4, at 3 p.m.
Nawab’s relatives claimed that the Taliban detained him on charges of collaborating with their opponents, although Nawab was a simple labourer and had no affiliation with any group.”
This comes as, according to a recent report by the United Nations, the Taliban have killed around 220 former employees and military personnel since coming to power. However, the exact number of individuals who were not associated with the previous government and were only detained and killed by this group on charges of collaborating with Taliban opponents is not yet known.
