VOC News: Hazara refugees in Indonesia say that it has been 25 months since they started protesting their uncertain fate.
These refugees, by sending a video tape to Citizen’s Voice news agency today, Friday, September 7, state that they have been protesting and seeking justice in various cities of Indonesia for over two years but have not received a satisfactory response from the United Nations so far.
The demands and protests of Hazara refugees in Indonesia have sometimes escalated into violence by the police.
These refugees accuse the Indonesian government of mistreatment and exploitation. They claim that the Indonesian government is trying to keep them in Indonesia in exchange for money from host countries and the United Nations.
It is said that more than six thousand Hazara refugees in Indonesia are in a state of uncertainty. So far, 17 of these refugees have committed suicide.
