Local sources said that the Kabul-Jalalabad highway has been blocked for traffic due to landslides.
Sources stated that the landslide happened last night (September 16), and the Kabul-Jalalabad highway was blocked to traffic from an area a few kilometres away from the Kabul Gate.
The Ministry of Public Works of the Taliban has also confirmed this incident and said that Moulvi Mohammad Isa Thani, acting head of this ministry, visited the blocked part of the highway this morning.
In a newsletter of this ministry, it is stated that the landslide is still ongoing and that the engineering teams of the Ministry of Interior and Defence have been requested for help to clear the road and work on a plan for an alternative route.
The local Taliban officials asked the travellers not to travel on this route until further notice.
