Several members of the movement (Shanbahay_e_ Arghawani), today Tuesday, May 23rd, expressed their concern about the bad situation of prisoners in Afghanistan by sending a video and a protest notice to VOC News.
The members of this movement said in a published announcement: We want you to monitor the prisons of the Taliban group, the citizens of Afghanistan do not have any security under the rule of the Taliban group. They added that the Taliban group gives itself the right to insult, humiliate, detain, torture, and even kill the citizens.
The findings of the movement (Shanbahay_e_ Arghawani) and the investigative reports of some media, including 8am Media, show that the condition of prisoners, especially women, in the prisons of this group is miserable, and the prisoners are subjected to sexual assault and inhumane torture in addition to not having access to a fair trial they take.
In the end of this announcement, they asked from human rights organizations, United Nation, and international community to protect the people of Afghanistan and put pressure on the Taliban to do the following:
- Respecting the rights and freedoms of Afghan citizens, especially women.
- Monitoring of Taliban prisons by national and international institutions.
- Immediate release of Rasul Parsi, Motiullah Wisa, Alia Azizi and other human rights defenders.
- Freedom of speech for the people of Afghanistan.
