Local sources say that Mufti Abdul Hamid, the head of the fight against criminal crimes of the Taliban, was killed by unknown people in Hazrat_Sultan district of Samangan province.
This event happened yesterday evening (Tuesday, May 23, 2023) on the route between Hazrat Sultan and the city of Aybak.
The cause he was killed is unknown yet, but what is clear is the fierce opposition between the Taliban groups.
This event took place while last month (April 5, 2023), there was several hours of clashes in Herat province. The Taliban claimed that this conflict was with ISIS and as a result 13 ISIS fighters were killed, but there are claims that this conflict was among the Taliban themselves.
A national security officer of the former government in Herat claimed that the conflict was between Taliban commanders. He who didn’t want to be named in the report for security reasons said that this conflict took place between the Taliban chief in Herat and one of the local Taliban commanders named Maulawi Dawood, which led to the killing and wounding of a number of groups involved.
