The News Newspaper, on behalf of credible Pakistani sources, says that the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan has decided to increase pressure on Afghanistani immigrants so they are forced to leave Pakistan.
The government of Pakistan has said that illegal Afghanistani immigrants should be deported and must not be allowed to stay in Pakistan any longer.
This new Pakistani decision has doubled the trouble for Afghanistani people in Pakistan. Some of these immigrants say that they came here due to the situation in Afghanistan, but it looks like they cannot stay there either.
A few days ago, Arezo Ahmadi, who is an athlete with a Hazara ethnic background from Afghanistan, was arrested by Pakistani police and taken to the police precinct. It was on the Sunday before that she came out victorious against three mighty opponents in a Jiu Jitsu and MMA competition that was held in Karachi, Pakistan, and was awarded the gold medal.
It was two days after that, when she was on her way to Islamabad, that she was arrested by the Pakistani police and taken to the police precinct.
Ms. Ahmadi told VOC News that she does not know the reason for her arrest. She added that, even though I had the refugee status card issued by UNHCR, I was arrested by the Pakistani police anyway.
