Zalmay Khalilzad, former special representative of the United States for Afghanistan, said that faith develops and comes from the heart of human beings, not from external pressure. He added that the Taliban will not be able to deepen the faith of the people by building more mosques and madrasas, as the Iranian government could not do so in the last 40 years.
He asked the Taliban to serve the people by reducing their problems instead of abusing Islam and practising totalitarianism.
He said these words while being accused of lobbying for the Taliban by the people. People also believe he played a major role in creating the current situation.
