On Wednesday, June 14, the Taliban’s department of virtue propagation and vice prevention informed the owners of wedding venues in Herat province that all Sharia regulations must be implemented flawlessly after this.
At this conversation, the Taliban urged the attendees to be serious about adopting Sharia rules and not to back down even a single step. It is also said that if someone violates Sharia law, the wedding hall’s gate would be closed and the offender will be punished.
The Taliban informed the hall’s owners that no one has the right to play music, ring bells, dance, film, or enter the wedding hall without a veil.
They further warned that changing rooms would be closed, congregational prayers would be held, no man, including the groom, would be allowed into the women’s salon, and the names of those who entered the wedding salon without a veil were to be handed over to the Taliban administration.
Since the Taliban took power, restrictions have been tightened and individuals have faced numerous challenges.
