According to CNN, today, Wednesday, June 14, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang.
It is said that the purpose of this call was to improve the tense relations between the two countries. The US foreign minister has emphasised establishing bilateral relations and maintaining the lines of communication between both sides. In part of his speech, Blinken mentioned the global challenges and the continuity of responsibilities that benefit both countries.
On the other hand, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang told Blinken that the United States should not interfere in China’s internal affairs and stop unhealthy economic competition with a weakening purpose. The Chinese Foreign Minister added that the United States should focus on the main issue, which is respecting China’s concerns about Taiwan.
According to the report published by CNN and a Chinese journalist, the talks between the two sides in this call were left unfinished, and as the US Secretary of State is going to travel to China in the near future, they can solve the recent tensions in their political affairs in person.
Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said that he hopes to have a meeting in person with the American representative until they reach a decisive conclusion on the axis of maintaining bilateral lines and restoring relations to the path of sustainable development for both sides.
