The Taliban’s National Statistics and Information Authority in Kabul has cancelled some of the distribution centres for electronic identification cards, and this has created many problems for Kabul residents.
According to reliable reports, out of 26 EID distribution centres, only 10 are currently active.
The latest centre that has been cancelled is the Sar-e-Kotal Khairkhana centre in the 17th district of Kabul city. The cancellation of this centre has caused 41 employees to lose their jobs.
The Taliban have so far fired hundreds of employees of this department for unknown reasons. Some of these employees said that they have not received their salaries for roughly seven months.
Since the return of the Taliban to power, the Electronic Identification Card (EID) Distribution Centres have been opened and closed a dozen times so far, thus creating many problems for the people.
