Setara Mohammadi, at the meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, said that the Hazaras are facing genocide.
In this meeting, Setara Mohammadi spoke about systematical discrimination and deprivation at the local and national levels and the greater vulnerability of Hazara women under the Taliban regime, saying that the Hazaras are facing “genocide”.
She said that the Hazara community has been forced to relocate from their ancestral lands in several provinces, and the judicial system has been purged of Hazaras, and this is a clear example of genocide.
She continued to say that the Hazara women experience much greater vulnerability due to their gender, religion, and ethnicity.
She asked the international community and the United Nations not to remain silent against the genocide of the Hazaras. It is time for the Human Rights Council and the United Nations Security Council to take action and stop the systematic persecution of the Hazaras.
