In a press conference yesterday (June 21), Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, called Joe Biden’s statements regarding the Chinese president absurd and provocative.
She added that these behaviours severely violate diplomatic protocols and China’s political position. For this reason, the Chinese government does not allow anyone to behave this way.
This response came after US President Joe Biden called Chinese President Xi Jinping a dictator in a speech and said that his behaviour was beyond the bounds of populism.
On Tuesday, June 20, Biden said at a gathering in California that Xi Jinping is upset because of the explosion of his spy balloon in the United States, and he is trying to subdue his upset in the form of a dictatorship.
Mr. Biden added that dictators have always been embarrassed in the eyes of the people and lost their way.
