The Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, by publishing an open letter to the United Nations Security Council meeting, which was held on Wednesday, June 21, has asked this council not to recognise the Taliban.
This council said that it expresses gratitude and appreciation for the UN Security Council’s resolution condemning the Taliban’s ban on women’s work and education and hopes to emphasise the role of the United Nations in solving the Afghanistan crisis.
The council added that interacting with the Taliban, who host terrorist groups, means strengthening terrorism and leading Afghanistan and the world to a security crisis.
In this letter, it was stated that the Taliban group is unchangeable and that it is pointless to expect anything from this group. After two years, the Taliban have not yet been able to interact with the world, Islamic countries, or the people of Afghanistan.
The council also added that the Taliban has created sexual apartheid in Afghanistan by imposing strict laws and banning women from work and education, and we ask the UN Security Council to prevent this.
This council has added that they support the establishment of a democratic government and consider it the only way to save Afghanistan from the crisis.
At the end of this letter, the Council emphasised that there are no good and bad Taliban, and dividing this group into good and bad will not change their situation.
