German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said yesterday (Friday, June 23) in a joint press conference with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov in Bishkek that the current situation in Afghanistan is unacceptable.
Mr. Steinmeier added that Afghanistani women and girls have been subjected to gender discrimination in an organised and systematic manner by the Taliban group and have been excluded from all levels of power.
During his visit, he added that Kyrgyzstan is one of the most influential countries in the region, and this country should use its influence to control the Taliban.
