The spokesman of the Supreme Council for National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan appeared in a news conference via Zoom on Monday, June 26, and answered the questions of journalists.
Khalid Pashtun, one of the spokespersons of this council, in response to the reporter of VOC News asking what the reaction of the Supreme Council for National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan is to the movement of members of the Pakistani Taliban in the north of the country, said this action of the Taliban is giving shelter to terrorists and strongly condemns it.
He said that any movement by the Taliban is part of any process to destabilise the northern areas of Afghanistan so that they can transfer terrorist groups to the countries of Central Asia.
He answered another question about whether the Supreme Council for National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan has an armed resistance plan in its plans. He added that the focus of the Council is on the negotiations and implementation of the Doha Agreement. If the armed opposition fronts of the Taliban are going to come under the umbrella of the Council, they must accept the plan of this Council, and the Council does not prefer war.
He stated that the council is trying to force the Taliban to implement the Doha agreement through the international community. Because inclusive governance, human rights, women’s rights, and the basic values of society are included in the Doha Agreement, the Taliban are obliged to comply with it.
