Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the Taliban’s acting Prime Minister, apprised Sheikh Nada Mohammad Nadeem, the Taliban’s minister of higher education, that Islamic education should be prioritised.
He continued by saying that Islamic education encourages students to learn with an Islamic perspective and promotes Afghanistan’s economic growth.
Maulvi Abdul Kabir urged the Minister of Higher Education to create a plan so that students may be ready for work and other activities in line with Afghanistan’s demands.
These discussions took place at a time when some intellectuals in Afghanistan and around the world believed that the emphasis on Sharia and Islamic texts would be the start of extremism and fundamentalism and that this behaviour would lead to war, violence, and murder.
