In a letter to Afghanistan’s 34 provincial commanders, the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior warned that ISIS would target local leaders for suicide strikes.
It is suggested in this letter that it is possible for ISIS to join the welcoming ceremony and target high-ranking central and provincial officials by dressing like regular people.
In this letter, it is requested to take security matters very seriously in order to prevent ISIS attacks.
The Taliban are currently making an effort to disprove ISIS’s presence in Afghanistan. However, ISIS has so far executed a number of senior members of this group in recent months.
