According to local sources, an old man committed suicide in this province after requesting support and collaboration from the governor of Kandahar due to his poverty and difficulties.
This tragedy happened yesterday (Sunday, July 9) in Hasanzoi hamlet of Shah Vali Kot city, based on sources.
Sources added that a request letter addressed to the governor of Kandahar was discovered in the impoverished man’s wallet, requesting assistance and collaboration from the Taliban governor.
The sources stated that this man, who was responsible for eight people, requested assistance, but the Taliban governor ignored his appeal, which caused him to commit suicide.
This is despite the fact that, after the rule of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, poverty and deprivation in the country have increased in an unprecedented way. In less than two years of the Taliban’s rule, dozens of people have committed suicide due to unemployment and poverty.
