The British newspaper Daily Mail has reported that a number of former high-ranking soldiers of the British Army have requested the evacuation of their Afghanistani allies in a letter titled “Forgotten Afghans” from Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of this country.
In a report published on Thursday, July 13, a number of generals, lieutenants, and diplomats told the British Prime Minister that “two thousand and 725” of the British army’s allies are stranded in Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban, and the government must fulfil its commitment.
These British veterans, who fought in Afghanistan, called their Afghanistani allies “brothers in war” and said that they all fought “shoulder to shoulder” against the Taliban group.
The report also added that these stranded Afghanistanis are eligible for evacuation and there is a possibility of their transfer. They should be evacuated because they jeopardised their lives.
The report also stated that more than 2,000 people are waiting for their visas to be issued in Pakistan.
As the Afghan Taliban swept back to power in Afghanistan, former military personnel and allies of NATO and ISAF have been arrested, tortured, and murdered by the Taliban.
