Abolfazl Zahravand, the former ambassador of the Iranian government to Afghanistan, has claimed in a conversation with the Iran Study Centre that Mullah Hibatullah, the leader of the Taliban, died a year ago.
Mr. Zahravand has not submitted a document regarding his claim, but he claimed that there has been no person named Mullah Hibatullah for a year and that the Taliban are lying to the people.
He has also claimed that Pakistan is trying to annex Afghanistan to be considered one of its states.
He has stated that the Taliban is divided into several groups, and it is difficult to make decisions among them in most cases.
Meanwhile, the officials of the Iranian government are conservative in dealing with the Taliban.
