According to the report of the Department of Labour and Social Affairs of the Taliban in Balkh province, more than 16 thousand children are engaged in hard labour in this province, and some children work in brick kilns due to poverty.
The Taliban head of labour and social affairs in Balkh province said that more than 16,000 children are engaged in hard labour in this province, out of which only 1,500 are in support centres receiving vocational training.
On the other hand, a number of child labourers who work in brick kilns said that due to the bad economic situation and poverty, they are forced to work in brick kilns together with their mothers or other family members. And as education is not available for them due to poverty, they have no other option except to work.
Meanwhile, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations has said in a report that three out of every five families are facing severe food problems.
