On the occasion of August 15, the two-year anniversary of the fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban group, a number of Afghanistani citizens held a protest on Sunday (August 13) in the city of Den Haag.
They stated that the purpose of holding this programme was to draw the world’s attention to the current conditions of the Afghanistani people.
Saber Pirzad, the host of Dutch TV (BNNVARA), wrote on his Facebook page: “We all tried together to attract the attention of Dutch institutions and people in different parts of Afghanistan, including the economy and health.”
Farah Karimi, a member of the Dutch Senate who has been involved in Afghanistan issues for many years, also spoke at this gathering.
Emphasising the bad situation in Afghanistan and especially the situation of women, she said that she would not hesitate to cooperate with the people of Afghanistan.
This is despite the fact that on August 15, massive protests will be held in more than 18 cities around the world by the citizens of Afghanistan.
