A reliable source from Uruzgan province said that one Hazara farmer was killed by armed men in the Bagchar region.
This source added that the person who was killed was Haji Bostan from Bagchar. The source continued to say that two of Haji Bostan’s sons were also beheaded in 2010 in Qalgho, near Baghchar, along with seven other people who were all returning home from Iran.
Also, ten days ago, VOC News obtained documents showing that the Taliban and local residents who are Pashtuns cut down more than 390 Hazara people’s fruit trees on August 4.
The source emphasised that the neighbouring Pashtuns are trying to forcibly migrate the Hazaras of this region.
About 500 families used to live in this area, and currently there are no more than 200 families left. It is said that all the families who fled the area did so for security reasons.
Moreover, these documents show that the properties of the Hazara people of Joy-i-Now were also destroyed and set on fire by the local Pashtuns.
With the death of Haji Bostan, the number of people killed in Joy-i-Now and Bagchar in Uruzgan province after the Taliban came to power has reached 14.
