According to Tasnim news agency, Fada Hossein Maleki, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the “Islamic Parliament”, said that we should not allow ISIS to gain power in Afghanistan.
Mr. Maleki said that despite the defeat in Iraq and Syria, ISIS is looking for a new home for itself, and Afghanistan is one of those places.
He conducted this interview on Saturday, August 27, with Tasnim News Agency, a news agency affiliated with the Iranian government.
In an interview with this news agency, he said that ISIS movements have increased in Afghanistan and noted that Nangarhar province in Afghanistan is a place where ISIS seeks to increase its power.
Referring to the rise of ISIS in Jalalabad, the capital of Nangarhar province, Mr. Maleki added: ISIS has appeared in a different form in this country after the recent political developments, and many countries in the region and the world reacted to the presence of this group in Afghanistan.
In order to prevent Daesh from gaining power, Maleki stated that negotiation with the current “rulers” of Afghanistan is the main option for future actions. Because the regaining power of ISIS with the support of America in Afghanistan is facing a new security crisis in the region and the world,
This is while the Taliban denies the presence of Daesh in Afghanistan and says that the Daesh group has been destroyed in Afghanistan and does not operate independently at the moment.
