A local source from Bamyan province has reported, along with images of food supplies, about the mismanagement and embezzlement of global food aid by contractors of an organisation.
On Tuesday, August 28th, local sources reported that people in Bamyan were expressing complaints about the distribution process and mismanagement of global food aid by officials.
The local source has lodged a complaint with visual evidence, specifying that some employees of the organisation ‘WMSSO,’ which is a contractor of the World Food Programme (WFP), are selling a portion of this aid to shopkeepers and misusing the money.
The source added that the aid being distributed here is not monitored by any entity, so the distributors have an open opportunity for mismanagement.
Meanwhile, a number of people from the central provinces of the country have repeatedly complained about the redirection of aid by the Taliban towards the north and mostly the south of the country.
