According to local sources in Takhar, two Taliban fighters who had entered the home of a local resident with the intention of sexually assaulting a woman were killed by the homeowner.
Sources from Takhar reported that on Friday night, September 1, two Taliban fighters entered a house in the village of Qarildi in the Khwaja Bahauddin district of Takhar province with the intent of sexually assaulting a woman. However, they were confronted by the homeowner’s resistance.
The sources added that the homeowner shot at these individuals with a gun, resulting in the death of one Taliban fighter and injuring another. Additionally, due to the ensuing gunfire exchange, a young boy from this family was also killed by the Taliban.
Sources further stated that the second Taliban fighter who was injured in the shooting later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
It is also reported that the Taliban have detained another young boy from this family on charges of killing the two Taliban fighters.
The deceased individuals were reportedly members of a local Taliban commander named Taher.
Taliban authorities have not yet commented on this incident.
This comes in the wake of a similar event two days ago in the Sheer district of Bamyan province, where three Taliban members attempted to sexually assault a female teacher but were met with resistance from local residents. As a result, five local individuals were severely injured due to gunfire from the Taliban.
