According to the Daily News, Joni Ernst, a representative of the state of Iowa in the US Senate and a former member of the country’s army, says that Joe Biden fell short in front of the Taliban and that Biden’s decision has led to the biggest disaster in his country’s foreign policy.
The Daily News reported on Thursday, September 7, quoting Joni Ernst, that Biden intensified the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan against the advice of his military advisers.
Ms. Ernst added that the US government has shown its enemies the weakness of this country in the world with this decision.
She said: With the Taliban group regaining control over Afghanistan, women and girls have faced the oppression of this group again, and many restrictions have been applied against women.
Mrs. Ernst also criticised Biden for his interaction with the Taliban and said that the American president failed to convince this group in the field of human rights, especially the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.
Ms. Ernst stated: What happened two years ago in Afghanistan was a shame for our soldiers and for our friends who served in the global war against terrorism, like me.
More than two years have passed since the US left Afghanistan and the Taliban regained control of the country. During this time, the US government led by Biden has been severely criticized by the representatives and former officials of this country.
