The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has written in a report that Afghanistan is one of the major producers of methamphetamine in the region since the Taliban took over. This international organisation added that the financial benefits of these narcotic substances go into the pockets of mafia groups and domestic and international smugglers.
Based on the United Nations report, the increasing growth of these materials has the potential to challenge the security of the region and the world. This organisation added that if the production of glass or methamphetamine is not prevented, it will cause terrible concern in the countries of Southwest Asia.
Some experts and analysts say that terrorist, extremist, and fundamentalist groups benefit the most from the production of methamphetamine. These experts believe that they play a decisive role in facilitating the Taliban’s methamphetamine production.
