A delegation from the Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs met with the border authorities of Uzbekistan.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Borders and Tribal Affairs said in a statement on Saturday (July 8) that border issues were discussed during the meeting.
Acting Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs, Mullah Gholam Nabi Samim, spoke about border issues in this meeting in Jawzjan province.
This Taliban official has pledged Uzbekistan that no danger from Afghanistan’s territory will threaten Uzbekistan and that they will also resolve the border issues, the statement added.
While the Taliban promise to solve the border problems, several rockets have been launched from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan in the last two years, for which ISIS-K claimed responsibility.
Not long ago, the Taliban’s Acting Minister of Defence, Mullah Yaqoob, warned Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, “Do not test our patience and return the Afghanistan air crafts”.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, of which Uzbekistan is also a member, has repeatedly warned that thousands of ISIS-K fighters are active on the borders of Afghanistan, and this is a serious threat to the region, especially for the countries bordering Afghanistan.
