According to local sources, people from the village of Rigshad in Bamyan province are concerned about the closure of passage for about 500 families from this area by a group of Pashtun individuals with the support of Taliban fighters.
Based on reports from local sources, some Pashtuns are attempting to forcibly displace the Hazara people of the Rigshad area in Bamyan in order to seize their lands and homes.
Local sources stated that some Pashtun individuals have claimed, based on a forged document, ownership of residential houses in the central Bamyan town of Rigshad, alleging it for over twenty years. However, the Bamyan Supreme Court had ordered an investigation into the matter, but due to intimidation and pressure from the Pashtun conveyors, the Bamyan Stenayv Court is not willing to investigate the issue.
Sources further added that currently, local Taliban, relying on a decree from the lower court, want to demolish people’s houses, even though the area mentioned in the deed doesn’t correspond to the actual location and the area’s name doesn’t match the one mentioned in the deed.
Sources claimed that the mentioned area has not been officially registered, but due to the Taliban’s interference and pressure, people have been deprived of their legal and rightful rights and forced to abandon their homes.
Local people stated that the Pashtun individuals, in order to reopen communication routes to the village of Rigshad, have requested around 1.7 million Afghanis.
Sources emphasised that some of the property owners in question also possess documents of ownership from the previous government’s land administration. However, their claims have never been addressed, and no formal claims or protests have been recorded in the past twenty years.
