Amrullah Saleh, the former vice president of Afghanistan, has claimed on his X page that he has obtained documents that show that Shahabuddin Delawar, the Taliban’s Minister of Mines and Petroleum, stole 25 million dollars from the revenue of the Samangan coal mine.
Saleh said that one of the officials of the Taliban Affairs Department, named “Sifullah Tayyeb,” was required to investigate the matter. Tayyeb’s findings show that Shahabuddin Delawar committed “fourteen cases of theft and corruption,” which are under investigation by this department.
Regarding the details of these documents, Saleh has written that the coal proceeds were sent through the “Hawale” channel, while they should have been transferred through the bank.
According to Saifullah Tayyeb, some of the stolen money was transferred to the account of “Son of the Minister of Mines and Petroleum” in “Dubai”.
Saleh wrote that Mullah Hibatullah said in this matter that the final report should be arranged within ten days.
Mr. Saleh has not provided any evidence for these claims.
The Taliban always emphasise that the people and officials of this group do not commit financial and moral corruption based on the orders of Islam, but it has been seen that the behaviour of the Taliban is different from what they say.
